The seaport of Klaipėda is the most northern ice-free deep-water port in the eastern Baltic Sea. This is the only Lithuanian port, the largest transport center of the country, which connects land and sea routes from East and West. Favorable geographical situation of the seaport allows developing the transit cargo shipments intensively. The seaport of Klaipėda is the leader in container handling in the eastern line of Baltic ports since 2004. Over the past four years, container handling at the seaport of Klaipėda increased by 3 times. The seaport of Klaipėda connects by wide container lines network with a number of major Western and Northern European logistics and distribution centers - Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Antwerp, Rotterdam and others. The largest container lines have their offices in Klaipėda seaport today. The seaport has two container terminals.
